Each of these little ornaments measures a mere 2 1/4" square when stitched on the 18ct Damask Aida we used for our models.

Each ornament features four blackwork filling patterns with metallic highlights and seed bead embellishments. 

Stitch them in another color, vary the metallics, put two or more of them together for a needlebook, use one of the tiny squares for a scissors fob, or use the filling patterns for bigger projects.

Although inspired by historic patterns, these are original designs.

BLACKWORK STOCKING

Our little blackwork stocking is stitched on 36ct linen using Splendor silk and Petit Treasure Braid gold fibers.

The stocking stitched as our model is 5 1/4" x  7" but it certainly can be enlarged to be stitched on your favorite evenweave or linen.  This project is not very suitable for stitching on Aida fabrics.

You can also use the eight filling patterns for other projects.
