| We're not your lawyers--we can't give
you legal advice. You need a qualified lawyer to give you advice
on how to best protect your designs, your investments, your hard work,
and your business. All we can do with this CD-ROM is give you some
of the background material you need to help yourself.
You may already have an attorney who advises you on business matters. Your company may even have an attorney who works in-house, giving you legal advice and preparing legal documents such as contracts. Talk to your attorney about his or her experience with intellectual property matters. It's not unusual for a skilled, experienced attorney not to be knowledgeable about copyright. We've seen instances where people in positions which involved giving legal advice or information have given incorrect information about copyright. If you need to find an attorney who specializes in copyright, perhaps your regular attorney can give you a referral. If not, you can try contacting your state or provincial Bar Association. |
