When choosing a needle for double-running, you may feel more comfortable stitching an outward journey using a blunt tapestry needle and then changing to a sharp crewel needle for the return journey if you will be splitting threads on the return journey. For some stitchers, a very fine (28) tapestry needle works well when splitting threads.
If you are not splitting threads, a larger tapestry needle will prevent your inadvertently splitting them.
BOTH THREADS MUST BE TURNED AND WORKED IN ON ONE LINE OF STITCHES
THE THREADS CAN BE WORKED IN SEPARATELY, EACH IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION
